Inaugural Brunei Open
05/03/15
Brunei's first ever Lawn Bowls Open Chamionship proved to be a resounding success and was a great advert for Bruneian lawn bowls.
This was a hotly contested mixed triples tournament tournament which consisted of a strong field of participants both domestic and international. Brunei was widely represented with many of the teams taking part having members who represent the Bruneian National Team. On the international front were teams from Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia and a bowler who had come all the way from England to take part.
Despite strong competition, Brunei's very own 3V team (Israt, Hafidz, Belle) came out on top in the final against Hong Kong's Kowloon Bowling Green Club; winning 24-9. Congratulations to them and all who took part.

New Facilities for Bowlers
28/11/14
Weather conditions dictating playing schedules may become a thing of the past in Brunei.
In a Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport meeting graced by HRH Prince Abdul Malik,
one of the issues discussed was that many training sessions and matches have been cancelled in the past due to adverse weather conditions.
There is also a concern that enticing new players to the sport has proved difficult due to the daytime heat.
It was announced that the Ministry recognised the need for a roofed stadium to enable Brunei's bowlers to fully utilise their talents and that roofed facilities are in the planning stage.
